Update 09/12/2010
The last 3 Antique, Collectors, Craft, Book and Curiosities Fairs have proved to be quite successful with regard to demand for stalls.
The number of people visiting these events were on a par to what was expected with no great surprises.

We are currently in the process of organising one of our USED BOOK FAIRS with a twist. This will take place on Saturday morning 9.30am to 1pm 8th. January, 2011.

Unusally we are allowing the public free entry to this event with stalls at only £8 each and £12 for a double.

We will be carrying out our usual amount of
advertising and hope you will either visit as a member of the public or book a stall.

Antique, Collectors, Craft, Book and Curiosities Fair, Sunday 26th. September 2010 @ Lowdham Village Hall.
Planing has already commenced on our next event. This will obviously be a new season for us and I am hoping that I have learned from my mistakes. It appears that we will be well provided for with regard to stallholders all we will now need is to attract the public. We would be only to happy to hear from any one with any suggestions as to how to achieve this without
it breaking the bank.
Consideration is currently being given to creating new road signs in the form of boards that may be fastened to lamp posts rather than using road side peg style signs. Other ideas and thoughts will be announced as they are suggested.

Craft Fair, Sunday 6th June, 2010 at Lowdham Village Hall.

Well what can I say apart from the best laid plans of mice and men can so easily go astray.
Sunday morning started with us leaving our home for the event venue to find all the roads bone dry, this was absolutely amazing considering the thunderstorms, lightening and torrential downpour we had over night.
We arrived at the venue at about 7am to slightly cooler but dry weather and started setting up the hall for our stallholders. As we started setting up the stalls it got darker and darker with some flashes of lightening and thunder and then the heavens really opened up.
My thoughts went along the lines of b****r it their go the outside stalls, it then occurred to me that the side room was still available so after a quick word with the caretaker it was agreed that we could make use of the side room for all those who had booked outside stalls if they didn't mind squeezing in.
It occured to me that maybe the bad weather could be considered a blessing in disguise as all the outside events would in all probability be cancelled particularly if their was no cover for the stallholders.
Eventually the majority if not most of our stallholders managed to make it to the venue even though it was quite traumatic for one or two of them. In fact one of our regular stallholders told me she had actually turned round 3 times to go back home due to the atrocious weather but in the end she didn't want to let me down so she carried on to the event.
As it turned out we managed to accomodate everyone that turned up and I must admit we had attracted a really nice bunch of stallholders many of them standing with us for the first time.
The number of members of the public that visited the event were not unfortunately up to our usual attendance level though they did seem to come in on a steady basis.
So as a result of the poor public attendance and brief discussions with my partners and the stallholders, it was deduced that the area in which the event was taking place needed a more broad outline of stallholders and that we could not rely on such a narrow range of interest IE crafts and would have to return to our regular setup of Antiques, Collectors, Crafts, Books and Curios Fairs.
So if you as either a member of the public or a stallholder have any views about the event please feel free to email me wth them and we will give all suggestions our due care and attention. If any suggestion proves to be usefull we will mention it in the event blog and allocate credit where it is due.
So I am hoping that we will get some ideas to improve the numbers of public attending our future events.

Hi everyone, thanks for taking the time to view our website.
Our last event was extremely successful even though we had decline a few stall bookings that had left it to late to get a stall. The number of people coming through the door was well up on previous events at this venue. Stallholders from all reports made money over and above their stall fee, some making substantially more.
Though it was a lovely day, many people made the effort to visit the fair and spend a bit of money. This Spring Day Event was quite successful. Other features that may have helped with this event were a repeat of the extra advertising undertaken in Nottingham Evening Post and The Dover Beck .
Planning and organisation of our next event is now under way and should attract some attention as it will be taking place just at the beginning of what I call Summer that is Sunday 6th.June 2010 at Lowdham Village Hall, Main Street, Lowdham, Nottingham, NG14 7BE.
This event will be quite different from our reguler events as we will be having a Craft Fair, and therefore using the back garden at the Village Hall as well as the Hall its self.
The event will be open to all Art and Crafts people, their suppliers and plant growers, so I suggest booking early as with all our events as once we start taking bookings we fill up very fast.
So many thanks to all the stallholders who made the effort to stand at our last event and the forthcoming event and for the public support we received for both events.
